SOFIA (Bulgaria), October 4 (SeeNews) – The Bulgarian Black Sea port of Varna handled 6.7 million tonnes of cargo through September, up 12% on the year, the transport ministry in Sofia said on Tuesday.
In August alone, cargo traffic reached an all-time peak of 1.1 million tonnes, the ministry said in a statement.
The port's net profit for the first nine months of the year was 3.5 million levs ($2.4 million/1.8 million euro), the statement added, providing no comparative figure.
The state-owned port has two components: Varna East and Varna West.
