August 30 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's fuel retailer Petrol [BUL:5PET] posted a consolidated net loss of 10.5 million levs ($6 million/5.4 million euro) for the first half, compared to a loss of 100.1 million levs for the same period last year.
The company's consolidated sales revenue fell 32.2% on the year to 226.1 million levs in January-June, reflecting a lower volume of fuel sales and lower fuel prices, it said in a bourse filing late on Monday.
Petrol recorded an EBITDA loss (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation) of 7.4 million levs in the first half versus a loss of 28.9 million levs a year ago. It cut its EBIT loss (earnings before interest and taxes) to 8.2 million levs from 32.9 million levs.
Financial expenses dropped to 2.1 million levs from 67.4 million levs in the first half of 2015, while financial revenues fell to 103,000 levs from 1.5 million levs.
Petrol finished 2015 with a consolidated net profit of 102.9 million levs, reversing a consolidated net loss of 174.5 million levs loss in 2014.
Petrol operates 334 fuel stations throughout the country and three petrol port terminals.
