BANJA LUKA (Bosnia and Herzegovina), September 20 (SeeNews) – EFT Rudnik i Termoelektrana Stanari, an EFT Group company, said on Tuesday it has officially launched Bosnia's 300 MW Stanari thermal power plant (TPP).
The ceremony which marked the completion of EFT’s 550 million euro ($614.7 million) investment into Stanari was attended by high officials, representatives of state institutions and company partners, the company that developed the project said in a statement.
"During 2016, TPP Stanari successfully completed commissioning processes, test runs and delivered the first megawatts to the national grid, proving to be a reliable electricity producer. EFT also successfully completed investments in the coal exploitation and transmission facility projects", EFT said.
From January to August, power plant Stanari produced 103.7% of the planned amount of electricity or 252 MW net.
TPP Stanari will produce two million megawatt hours of electricity per year.
The Stanari coal basin is situated some 70 km east of Banja Luka, in central Bosnia and Herzegovina. EFT has been operating the mine since May 2005.
UK-based EFT Group is an energy trading and investment group, focused on Western, Central and Southeast Europe. It was awarded a concession contract to develop the Stanari TPP in 2008.
