SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), July 28 (SeeNews) – Bosnian insurer Sarajevo Osiguranje [SAJ:SOSOR] said on Wednesday that it closed the first half of 2021 with a net profit of 1.5 million marka ($905,000/767,000 euro), compared with a 473,166 marka profit booked in the like period last year.
Sarajevo Osiguranje's gross written premiums edged down 0.8% on the year to 34.1 million marka in the review period, while its operating costs fell 7.3% to 13.4 million marka, the insurance company said in a filing with the Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE).
The company's total assets rose to 129.8 million marka at the end of June, from 126.2 million marka at the end of last year.
The government of Bosnia's Federation entity owns 45.5% of Sarajevo Osiguranje, while the remainder is in the hands of investment funds and banks, SASE data showed on July 28.
The insurer's shares traded 1.96% higher at 12.39 marka on the SASE by 1420 CET on Wednesday.
The Federation is one of two autonomous entities that make up Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
