BANJA LUKA (Bosnia and Herzegovina), January 11 (SeeNews) – Bosnian thermal power plant (TPP) Gacko produced 1,511.8 GWh of electricity in 2016, or 98.8% of plan, due to unplanned outages, local media reported on Wednesday.
Gacko burned 2,324,784 tonnes of coal in 2016, 102% of plan, news agency Srna reported.
Gacko recorded 17 outages last year, mostly due to poor quality of coal.
In December alone, Gacko produced 161.3 GWh of electricity, or 105.5% of plan.
The Gacko TPP and the adjacent namesake coal mine operate as a single business unit, RiTE Gacko. Both are part of Bosnian power utility ERS which operates an installed capacity of 1,348 MW.
