BELGRADE (Serbia), January 23 (SeeNews) – The Belgrade city government said a 3 billion dinars ($31 million/25.3 million euro) tender for the installation of tram rails on the Ada bridge in Serbia's capital has attracted three bids.
Serbian civil engineering group Energoprojekt [BEL:ENHL], Austria's Strabag and a Spanish company placed bids in the tender, Belgrade city manager Goran Vesic said in a statement on Monday.
According to Serbian media reports, French company Colas Rail has also placed a bid in the tender, while the Spanish company participating in the competition is Copisa, in consortium with Spain's Altuna y Uria, Austria's Bauwesen and Serbia's Geoas.
The Belgrade city government will analyse the submitted offers and pick the best one in the next two weeks and construction works are expected to begin in the coming months, Vesic said.
In December, the Belgrade city government's construction directorate said it plans to invest 3 billion dinars in the project.
The project envisages construction of two 2.7 km-long tramway tracks on the bridge which will link the Rakovica and New Belgrade neighbourhoods of the Serbian capital.
The Ada Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge over the Sava river in Belgrade. The bridge crosses the tip of Ada Ciganlija island, connecting the municipalities of Cukarica and New Belgrade.
