BELGRADE (Serbia), January 12 (SeeNews) – Indian conglomerate Mahindra Group is interested in investing in Serbia due to the political stability in the country, the government in Belgrade said on Thursday.
Prime minister Aleksandar Vucic, on a visit to India, met Mahindra Group president, Anand Mahindra, to discuss potential investments by the group in Serbia, the government in Belgrade said in a statement.

Defence industry manufacturing and the electric cars that Mahindra Group produces were discussed at the meeting as well as exports of Serbian raspberries and other food products to India.
Mahindra Group is among the 20 biggest Indian companies, active in multiple industries, and is the largest producer of tractors globally, the Serbian government said.
Serbia is a very interesting market and the best destination located in the heart of Europe, Mahindra said, according to the statement.
Indian investors are looking for political stability and a secure market, and Serbia meets both conditions, Mahindra added.
Vucic is on a four-day visit to India ending on Thursday. He held a meeting with Indian prime minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday and opened Thursday's session of the Bombay Stock Exchange.
