TIRANA (Albania), November 30 (SeeNews) – The gross written premiums of Albanian insurers decreased by 5.43% year-on-year in the first ten months of 2020, to 13.5 billion leks ($129.8 million/108.5 million euro), official figures showed.
Gross written premiums from non-life insurance fell by 4.88% on the year to 12.6 billion leks in the January-October period, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of 920.8 million leks, down 6.68%, according to figures published by the Albanian Financial Supervisory Authority last week.
Total gross claims paid increased to 6.2 billion leks as at the end of October, from 5.0 billion leks a year earlier.
The statistics comprises data from eight insurance companies operating in Albania.
