October 10 (SeeNews) - Albania will use a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and EU grants to launch a 90.3 million euro ($100.9 million) tender for construction and rehabilitation of the country's railways, the bank said.
The project of state-owned Albania Railways includes rehabilitation of the existing railway line between the cities of Tirana and Durres with a length of 34.7 km, construction of a new 7.4 km rail link to Tirana International Airport, as well as consultancy services, EBRD said in a notice posted on its website late on Friday.
Tendering for the construction works and the consultancy services is expected to begin in December.
