May 15 (SeeNews) - Serbia's state port governance agency said it has opened a tender to select an operator of the international passenger port on the Danube river in the second largest city of Novi Sad, in the country's north.
Interested bidders should present a programme with the port activities they plan to implement during the period they seek to operate the Novi Sad port, and also submit a feasibility study on the investments they plan to carry out in the port infrastructure and operations, the port governance agency said in a public invitation published last week.
The potential investor should offer to pay at least 12,700 euro ($13,700) in annual fee for operating the port, the statement read.
The bidding deadline expires on May 31.
In February, the head of the agency, Vuk Petrovic, said Serbia's river cruise market is expected to attract 10 million euro in direct and indirect revenue in 2024, with the number of passengers sailing onboard river cruise ships seen rising 10% to 200,000.
Serbia currently has 10 international ports - seven on the Danube and three of the Sava river. Three more ports, situated on the Danube, are expected to be opened in the coming period, the agency said in February.
