The combined costs of the companies in the Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles industry reached BGN 29,419,245,000 in 2017, up by 8.10% year-on-year.
The industry's total revenue makes up 35.07% to the country's Gross domestic product (GDP) in 2017, compared to 33.51% for 2016 and 33.73% in 2015.
A total of 200,534 people were employed in the Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles industry in 2017, compared to 234,189 in 2016 and 218,362 in 2015.
Most of the companies in the industry are based in Sofia, followed by Varna and Plovdiv.
