The Wholesale trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles industry in Bulgaria was represented by 29,116 companies at the end of 2017, compared to 29,863 in the previous year and 28,933 in 2015.

The industry's net profit amounted to BGN 2,823,185,000 in 2017.

The industry's total revenue was BGN 78,381,845,000 in 2017, up by 7.55% compared to the previous year.

The combined costs of the companies in the Wholesale trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles industry reached BGN 75,231,821,000 in 2017, up by 7.41% year-onyear.

The industry's total revenue makes up 90.00% to the country's Gross domestic product (GDP) in 2017, compared to 86.87% for 2016 and 89.42% in 2015.

A total of 131,626 people were employed in the Wholesale trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles industry in 2017, compared to 132,579 in 2016 and 138,621 in 2015.

Most of the companies in the industry are based in Sofia, followed by Plovdiv and Varna.
