After kick-starting the discussion about the future of hydrogen last year, the Budapest Hydrogen Summit will be organised this year again on 4 April,  to bring together the most important stakeholders of the hydrogen industry from Cental Eastern Europe and beyond reviewing the developments of the past year and the future of hydrogen in the global energy transition.

Climate goals gave a new momentum for hydrogen technology that enjoys renewed and rapidly growing attention worldwide. Due to its versatility, hydrogen has been described by many as the Holy Grail of decarbonisation. Harnessing the full potential of hydrogen has huge potential but there are still many open questions that must be answered.

Will hydrogen become the main energy carrier of the future? Which industries will profit from this new technology? Will green hydrogen overtake other forms of production? How to regulate this forthcoming market? Finally, how the energy crisis impacted the development of the hydrogen economy?

The event will be opened by Attila Steiner, Hungary’s State Secretary for Energy and Climate, who will present Hungary’s main targets in terms of the development of its hydrogen economy.
