March 29 (SeeNews) - German engineering conglomerate Siemens plans to bid in a 65 million euro ($84.2 million) international tender for the procurement of 15 multi-system electric locomotives to Zeleznice Srbije, the Serbian state-owned company said.
Siemens is also interested in participating in projects for the modernisation of Serbia's railways, Zeleznice Srbije said in a statement issued on Thursday after its director general, Dragoljub Simonovic, met with the representatives of the German company in Belgrade.
The project for the procurement of locomotives is being financed with the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
