October 23 (SeeNews) - Zagreb's municipal transport company ZET said on Monday it has procured 15 new buses with the aid of a 32 million kuna ($5.0 million/4.3 million euro) grant from the European Union.
The funds from the EU Cohesion Fund cover 85% of the procurement worth a total 42.5 million kuna, as the Croatian government is providing 15% from the state budget, ZET said in a statement.
Five of the total fifteen buses are already operating, while the remaining ten are expected to be put into service on Monday.
This is the first in a series of bus purchases Croatia will finance with grant funding totalling 315 million kuna. Next in line are the cities of Split, Zadar, Sisak, Rijeka, Dubrovnik, Pula, Osijek and Vinkovci.
