October 30 (SeeNews) - The share indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) gained ground on Friday, with telecommunication services provider Optima Telekom [ZSE:OPTE] leading the blue-chip winners, bourse data showed.
Optima's shares jumped 4.44% to a closing price of 4.70 kuna, ZSE data showed. Optima paced the losers on Thursday with a 2.17% price drop.
On Friday, the preferred shares of diversified conglomerate Adris Grupa [ZSE:ADRS2] were the only blue-chip decliner, shedding 0.28% to close at 357 kuna.
Seven of the ten blue-chip companies on the ZSE rose on Friday, one fell and two closed the session flat.
Food producer Podravka [ZSE:PODR] generated the largest turnover among the blue-chips for the day - of 838,000 kuna, closing up 1.80% at 453 kuna.
The ZSE's total trading turnover plunged to 4.6 million kuna ($708,000/607,000 euro) on Friday from 23.6 million kuna on Thursday, when a minority stake in Hrvatski Telekom [ZSE:HT] changed hands in a 17.1 million kuna block transaction. There were no block deals on Friday.
The bourse's 25-share benchmark CROBEX index added 0.82% to 1,574.68 after losing 0.85% on Thursday.
The narrower of the ZSE's two blue-chip indices, the CROBEX10, which tracks the leading companies in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, gained 0.76% to 990.94 on Friday after decreasing 0.48% on Thursday.
