December 23 (SeeNews) - The share indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) lost ground on Wednesday in tiny volumes, in what was their last trading day before the Christmas holidays, bourse data showed.
ZSE will be closed for trading on Thursday and Friday as Croatia celebrates Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
On Wednesday, car parts maker AD Plastik [ZSE:ADPL] paced the blue-chip decliners, shedding 3.68% to a close of 157 kuna, ZSE's daily report indicated.
At the other end, telecommunication services provider Optima Telekom [ZSE:OPTE] led the blue-chip winners by adding 2.76% to close at 5.22 kuna.
Among ZSE's ten blue chips, five fell on Wednesday, two rose, one ended the session flat and two did not trade.
Trading in the preferred shares of diversified conglomerate Adris Grupa [ZSE:ADRS2] generated the single largest turnover among the blue-chips - of 582,000 kuna, with the stock price going down 0.27% to close at 375 kuna.
Thus, ZSE's total trading turnover plunged to 2.1 million kuna ($334,000/278,000 euro) on Wednesday from 9.1 million kuna on Tuesday.
The bourse's 25-share benchmark CROBEX index dropped 0.08% to 1,725.11 after gaining 0.68% on Tuesday.
The narrower of the ZSE's two blue-chip indices, the CROBEX10, which tracks the leading companies in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, fell 0.24% to 1,075.03 on Wednesday after rising 0.94% on Tuesday.
