January 18 (SeeNews) - The main equity index of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE), the CROBEX, extended its winning streak for the 18th straight session on Tuesday, reaching a fresh record high in almost five years, bourse data showed.
The 21-share blue-chip CROBEX index gained 0.62% to end at 2,201.31, its highest level since February 2017, according to ZSE data.
The previous record five-year high was set on Monday, when the CROBEX closed at 2,171.46. The index has been rising since December 21.
The narrower CROBEX10 index which is tracking the top ten companies in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, rose 0.52% to end at 1,338.78 points.
Hrvatski Telekom [ZSE:HT] was the most liquid stock with a turnover of 2.3 million kuna ($347,000/306,000 euro). Its share price declined 0.54% to finish at 184.50 kuna.
Food and pharmaceuticals producer Podravka ended unchanged at 706 kuna in a turnover of 1.7 million kuna.
In lower turnovers, shares of Hrvatska Postanska Banka [ZSE:HPB] rose by 1.22% to 830 kuna, while hotel operator Arena Hospitality [ZSE:ARNT] appreciated 1.34% to 302 kuna.
Shares of ICT solutions provider Ericsson Nikola Tesla [ZSE:ERNT] surged 2.07%to 1,970 kuna and electrical equipment manufacturer Koncar [ZSE:KOEI] gained 1.58% to 965 kuna.
ZSE's total turnover fell to 9.3 million kuna from 15.8 million kuna on Monday.
