March 12 (SeeNews) - Croatia's Financial Services Supervisory Agency (HANFA) said on Thursday it is suspending the trading on the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) by the end of the day in order to protect investors amid high volatility.
ZSE temporarily suspended trading at 9:45am local time on Thursday after its broader blue-chip index CROBEX fell by more than 10% from Wednesday's close, HANFA said in a statement.
HANFA has also decided to use its legal right to suspend trading in all financial instruments for the rest of the Thursday session since there are justifiable reasons for that and in order to protect ZSE investors, the statement reads.
CROBEX was down 10.18% at 1,429.47 points by 10:40am local time on Thursday, while the narrower blue-chip index CROBEX10 had shed 10.31% at 850.83 points, ZSE data showed.
