January 17 (SeeNews) - The main equity index of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) continued to rise on Monday for a 17th straight session, to another record-high level in almost five years, bourse data showed.
The 21-share blue-chip CROBEX index advanced 0.75% to end at 2,187.68, its highest level since February 2017, according to ZSE data. The narrower CROBEX10 index which is tracking the top ten companies in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, went up 0.89% to end at 1,331.92 points.
The CROBEX advance came on the back of gains in telco Hrvatski Telekom [ZSE:HT] food and pharmaceuticals producer Podravka [ZSE:PODR], diversified holding company Adris [ZSE:ADRS2] and lender Zagrebacka Banka [ZSE:ZABA], [ZSE:ADRS2].
Hrvatski Telekom was the most liquid stock with a turnover of 3.95 million kuna ($532,000/465,000 euro). Its share price added 0.27% to finish at 185.50 kuna.
Podravka surged 2.32% to finish at 706 kuna in a turnover of 3.6 million kuna.
The preferred shares of Adris increased 1.64% to end at 435 kuna in a turnover of 1.2 million kuna.
Zagrebacka banka appreciated 1.49% to end at 68 kuna in a turnover of 1.1 million kuna.
The shares of another lender and Crobex member, Hrvatska Postanska Banka [ZSE:HPB], also increased 1.23% to end at 820 kuna in a turnover of 908,000 kuna.
ZSE's total turnover reached 15.8 million kuna on Monday 13.3 million kuna on Friday.
