January 12 (SeeNews) - Albania's economy is expected to expand by 3.8% in 2022, after growing by an estimated 7.2% in 2021, the World Bank said, slightly raising its forecast for the current year made in June.
The country's gross domestic product (GDP) is seen growing further by 3.7% in 2023, the World Bank said in its January 2022 Global Economic Prospects report published on Tuesday.
In June, the bank projected a GDP growth of 3.7% in 2022 for Albania.
The economic growth of the Western Balkans region is forecast at 4.1% in 2022, the World Bank noted. The GDP growth of the region is estimated at 5.9% in 2021 in the report.
