PRISTINA (Kosovo), January 31 (SeeNews) – The World Bank is lending 20.8 million euro ($25.7 million) towards the cost of a four-year agriculture and rural development project in Kosovo, the agriculture ministry said on Wednesday, quoting the bank’s country manager Marco Mantovanelli.
The project aims at advancing a competitive, productive and sustainable agricultural sector, Mantovanelli said during a meeting with Kosovo agriculture minister Nenad Rikalo, according to a statement issued by the ministry.
The World Bank approved the loan agreement for the project in April 2017, according to information posted in the website of the bank.
The project will focus on livestock, irrigation and drainage, agricultural markets, commercialization and agri-business, fishing and forestry, public administration and agricultural extension, research, and other support activities.
