May 13 (SeeNews) - The World Bank said it will extend a $75 million (72.2 million euro) loan to Albania for a project to improve the operational and financial performance of water supply and sanitation utilities in the country.
The Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) will provide a $6.3 million grant towards the cost of the project, the World Bank said in a statement on Thursday.
The grant, which will be managed by the World Bank, will provide financing for technical assistance, capacity building within central sector institutions and implementation and monitoring, as well as evaluation of the programme results, the global lender said.
The project for modernisation of Albania's water supply and sanitation sector is valued at a total of $135 million and it is co-financed by the country's government.
