September 3 (SeeNews) - The World Bank said on Friday it appointed Nicola Pontara as country manager for Serbia.
Pontara will oversee the bank’s programme and activities in the country, engage with the Serbian government, stakeholders and partners, the World Bank said in a statement.
Before the appointment, Pontara held the position of Country Manager for Lao PDR in the East Asia and Pacific Region. Prior to that, he was Country Manager for Bolivia in the Latin America and Caribbean Region, the World Bank said.
Pontara also served as Head of Office and Program Leader based in Juba, South Sudan, in the Africa Region, covering health, education and social protection.
