ZAGREB (Croatia), December 20 (SeeNews) – Hungarian low-cost air carrier Wizz Air announced on Tuesday it will launch flights out of Croatia's Osijek for the first time on May 19, 2017.
Wizz Air will fly from Osijek to Switzerland's Basel twice a week, on Monday and Friday, it said in a statement.
Osijek will become the second Croatian city to enter Wizz Air's network, following coastal Split.
Wizz Air's operations in Europe provide flights to 134 destinations, including Osijek, across 40 countries. In the last 12 months, the company carried over 22.4 million passengers and encouraged the creation of over 16,800 jobs in aviation, hospitality, tourism and other related activities.
