June 2 (SeeNews) - Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air said on Thursday that it will expand its cabin crew in Bulgaria as part of a European-wide recruitment drive by December 2022.
In Bulgaria alone, the airline plans to boost its cabin crew by 100 new staff, Wizz Air said in a press release.
The airline will aim to recruit a total of 2,000 new cabin crew and 800 pilots by the end of the current year.
The move is in line with Wizz Air's target of operating 500 airplanes with some 20,000 crew by 2030.
The London-listed company has a fleet of 154 Airbus A320, A321, A320neo and A321neo planes, and has placed orders for 329 Airbus neo aircraft.
Wizz Air flies several times a week to Varna, Burgas and Sofia. In May, it announced new routes linking the Bulgarian capital to Corfu and Mykonos in Greece, and Chania, Crete over the summer.
