April 27 (SeeNews) - Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air said that it is ready to reopen its base in Timisoara starting from May 1, provided that Romanian authorities lift flight restrictions.
This is subject to authority’s decision to lift or extend the current flight restrictions to and from Romania, Wizz Air said in a press release on Saturday.
If the restrictions remain in place, the base reopening will be postponed accordingly, Wizz Air added.
If the base will be reopened starting May, flights from Timisoara to Brussels Charleroi (Belgium), Paris Beauvais (France), Barcelona El Prat (Spain), Dortmund, Frankfurt Hahn (Germany), Rome Ciampino (Italy), London Luton (UK) will be resumed.
Throughout the flights cabin crew will be required to wear masks and gloves and will distribute sanitizing wipes to each passenger. Onboard purchases are allowed and suggested to be made by contactless payments, to minimise physical contact.
Wizz Air also said that it will continue its stringent daily cleaning schedule, with the entire aircraft being disinfected overnight, following official guidelines.
Wizz Air decided to suspend the flights on March 24 due to restrictions imposed by Romanian authorities in an effort to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
