SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), April 5 (SeeNews) – Hungarian low-cost carier Wizz Air said on Wednesday it has launched a direct air link between Bosnia's capital Sarajevo and Hungary's Budapest.
The route will be serviced twice a week, on Wednesday's and Sunday's until April 9 and on Monday's and Friday's from April 10, the low-cost carrier said in a statement.
The first direct air link between the countries will encourage two-way tourist movements and establish an important link for trade and commerce, encouraging investments in Bosnia, Wizz Air noted.
The route will also offer passengers from Sarajevo access to Wizz Air's network of 61 lines connecting 29 countries.
The Sarajevo-Budapest service marks Wizz Air's expansion across Bosnia, where it already operates out of Tuzla. The company currently offers 17 lines out of Bosnia to eight countries across Europe.
Wizz Air handled some 310,000 passengers from and to Tuzla in 2016, supporting around 230 local jobs.
