March 19 (SeeNews) - Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air announced on Thursday it is cancelling all flights to Malta due to the imposed travel restrictions aimed at overcoming the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
Wizz Air will halt its service to the island country from March 21 until April 10, it said in a press release.
All passengers who have already purchased tickets for the cancelled flights will be reimbursed, Wizz Air also said.
The airline operates direct flights between Bulgaria's capital Sofia and Malta.
Elsewhere in Southeast Europe, Wizz Air connects Malta to destinations in Romania, North Macedonia and Serbia.
Earlier this week, Wizz Air cancelled all of its flights from Bulgaria to Spain as of March 18, due to the national measures adopted to fight the further spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
