PODGORICA (Montenegro), December 14 (SeeNews) – The Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF) plans to extend 3.8 million euro ($4.3 million) in loans for road infrastructure projects in Montenegro, the country's European integration ministry said.
The WBIF will lend 2.5 million euro to Montenegro for the preparation of a project documentation for the construction of a ring road in Budva and 1.3 million euro for the revision of the feasibility study of the Bar-Boljare motorway, the European integration ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
"An additional investment in the preparation of projects in the field of transport is of particular importance in the context of improving the infrastructure connectivity of Montenegro with its neighbours and will contribute to a faster start of projects, new investments and dynamic economic development of Montenegro and the region," the general director for European funds of the ministry, Ivana Glisevic Djurovic, said in the statement.
The WBIF represents a regional blending facility supporting EU enlargement and socio-economic development in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia.
