June 26 (SeeNews) - Volvo Group Bulgaria, a unit of Sweden's Volvo Trucks, said on Tuesday it plans to invest 3 million levs ($1.8 million/1.5 million euro) in the construction of a new service centre.
The new service centre will be built on a plot of land adjacent to Trakia motorway near the city of Plovdiv, in southern Bulgaria. It will service and sell the full range of Volvo and Renault trucks, spreading on a total area of 2.3 ha and with a total capacity of 4,560 trucks per year, the company said in a statement.

"Plovdiv is a strategic region for us, because it is close to some of the fastest growing companies in the transport industry," Karin Johansson, managing director of Volvo Group Bulgaria, said in the statement.
The company also plans to open a service centre in the city of Veliko Tarnovo, in northern Bulgaria, in the autumn of 2018.
Volvo Group Bulgaria already operates four service centres in the country - in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna and Bourgas, according to information posted on the website of the company.
