November 17 (SeeNews) - The Romanian unit of British telecommunications group Vodafone said on Wednesday that its revenues edged up 0.9% year-on-year in the quarter ended September 30, to 196.6 million euro ($222.4 million).
The customer base reached 11.4 million at the end of September, Vodafone Romania said in a press release, without providing an year-earlier figure.
"We are now going through a process of transformation, evolving from a telecommunications company to a next-generation provider of digital and electronic communications services," Vodafone Romania CEO Achilleas Kanaris said. "For the next period, we want to continue to grow our IoT, e-health, smart agriculture and e-education solutions portfolio as well as infrastructure investments to support the needs of our customers."
In the previous quarter that ended on June 30, Vodafone Romania's booked 190.9 million euro in revenues.
In fiscal year 2020/2021 ended March 31, Vodafone Romania posted 801 million euro in revenues, down 1.5% compared to the previous fiscal year.
The group has 105,000 employees and over 300 million mobile customers across 21 markets and 48 partner markets around the world
