July 24 (SeeNews) - The Romanian unit of British telecommunications group Vodafone said on Friday that its revenue fell 1.2% on the year to 189.7 million euro ($220 million) in the quarter ended June 30.
Customer base reached 10.8 million at the end of June, Vodafone Romania said in a press release.
Mobile average revenue per user was 5 euro in the first quarter of the company's financial year 2020/2021.
"The last months came with great and numerous challenges for people, companies and other social and economic actors in our digital society. At Vodafone, we have taken swift action to ensure that our business continues to operate at full capacity in these new and exceptional conditions so that we can be able to support society, as fixed and mobile communication services have once again proven to be vital infrastructure," Vodafone Romania CEO Murielle Lorilloux said.
Vodafone Romania is a subsidiary of Vodafone Group.
In fiscal year 2019/2020, Vodafone Romania posted 905 million euro revenues, compared to 715 million euro in the previous year.
Following the acquisition of UPC Romania at end-July 2019, results for the previous fiscal year also included figures of UPC Romania.
The group has mobile operations in 24 countries, partners with mobile networks in 42 more, and has fixed broadband operations in 19 markets.
