TIRANA (Albania), February 12 (SeeNews) – Vodafone Albania has placed the only bid in a tender for the right to use frequencies in the 800 MHz band, the country's electronic and postal communications authority AKEP said.
Vodafone has offered 7.44 million euro ($8.4 million) for the use of the frequencies, AKEP said in a press release last week.
“Rights of use are granted for the purpose of building terrestrial communication networks in order to provide electronic communications services throughout the territory of the Republic of Albania,” AKEP noted.
The offer will now be evaluated by the tender commission.
At the end of the third quarter of 2018 Vodafone Albania had a 47% share of the country's mobile telecommunications services market of 2.7 million people, on which it competes with Telekom Albania and Albtelecom, according to AKEP data.
