October 23 (SeeNews) - The share indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) rose on Wednesday, as shipbuilding company Viktor Lenac [ZSE:VLEN] led the blue-chip gainers for a second straight day, ZSE data showed.
Viktor Lenac's shares closed at 7.85 kuna, up 4.67%, after adding 3.45% on Tuesday.
Power transmission equipment manufacturer Dalekovod [ZSE:DLKV] led the blue-chip losers, closing 2.8% lower at 4.86 kuna.
Adris Grupa [ZSE:ADRS] contributed the biggest portion of trading turnover among the blue-chip companies on Wednesday, of 1.6 million kuna, on the back of trade in the company's preferred shares. Adris' preferred shares closed 0.79% higher at 508 kuna, while its ordinary shares closed flat at 580 kuna.
Confectionery producer Kras, which has been boosting ZSE's turnover for several weeks now, closed flat at 1,050 kuna in deals worth 885,150 kuna in total.
Trade in Kras' shares soared following last month's announcement of a planned buyout bid by the company's largest single shareholder, meat producer Braca Pivac. Prior to the announcement, Kras traded at below 400 kuna.
Diversified holding Djuro Djakovic's shares closed 1.01% lower at 4.90 kuna, after recouping some losses recorded earlier in the day. The stock had lost 7.47% by 1200 CET on Wednesday after shedding 10% on Tuesday.
The company said earlier on Wednesday it was in talks with creditors for resolving its current liquidity crisis which has left it short of funds to pay September salaries to employees.
The ZSE's total trading turnover rose to 9.9 million kuna ($1.5 million/1.3 million euro), from 7.2 million kuna on Tuesday.
The 25-share benchmark CROBEX index rose 0.44% to 2,017.20 after edging up 0.01% on Tuesday.
The narrower of the ZSE's two blue-chip indices, the CROBEX10, which tracks the leading companies in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, increased by 0.33% to 1,195.92 after growing 0.32% on Tuesday.
The fixed-income CROBIS index closed flat at 116.8406.
