November 15 (SeeNews) - Austria's Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) said on Tuesday its pre-tax profit from operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina increased 82% on the year to 500,000 euro ($520,100) in the January-September period.
Total gross written premiums of VIG's Bosnian unit rose 14.6% on the year, to 29.9 million euro in the nine months through September, VIG said in its financial report for the January-September period.
Premiums from regular life insurance edged up 0.6% to 11 million euro in the period under review, while premiums from single life insurance increased 53.6% on the year to 4.2 million euro. Premiums from the health segment rose 9.1% on the year, reaching 200,000 euro.
Premiums of the motor third party liability sub-segment of insurance were 6% higher at 2.3 million euro, premiums of the CASCO segment rose by 6% to 1.8 million euro, and other property premiums increased 23.9% to 10.4 million euro in the nine months through September.
VIG, headquartered in Vienna, operates around 50 insurance companies in 25 countries in Europe, including Romania, Serbia, Moldova, Bulgaria, Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Croatia.
