March 15 (SeeNews) - Austria's Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) said on Wednesday its pre-tax profit from operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina went up 43.2% on the year in 2022, reaching 400,000 euro ($426,211).
Total gross written premiums of VIG's Bosnian unit advanced 15.3% year on year to 39.5 million euro in 2022, VIG said in an annual financial report.
Premiums from regular life insurance edged down 0.4% to 15.1 million euro in the year under review, while premiums from single life insurance increased 55.1% on the year to 5.8 million euro. Premiums from the health segment rose 25.1% on the year, reaching 300,000 euro.
Premiums of the motor third party liability sub-segment of insurance were 3% higher at 2.9 million euro, premiums of the CASCO segment rose by 5.7% to 2.3 million euro, and other property premiums increased 29.2% to 13.1 million euro in 2022.
VIG, headquartered in Vienna, operates around 50 insurance companies in 25 countries in Europe, including Romania, Serbia, Moldova, Bulgaria, Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Croatia.
