November 22 (SeeNews) - The Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) said on Tuesday its pre-tax profit from operations in Macedonia widened 20.9% year-on-year to 1.5 million euro ($1.6 million) in the first nine months of 2016.
Total gross written premiums in Macedonia rose by an annual 9.2% to 21.2 million euro in the review period, VIG said in its interim financial report published on its website.
Motor third party liability (MTPL) premiums grew 15.8% to 7.9 million euro, while casco premiums increased 3.3% to 1.92 million euro. Other property premiums added 5.5% to 11.3 million euro.
VIG is not operating in the life insurance segment in Macedonia.
VIG is present on the Macedonian insurance market through Osiguruvanje Makedonija and Winner Osiguruvanje.
