May 23 (SeeNews) - Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) said on Wednesday its pre-tax profit from operations in Macedonia grew to 1 million euro ($1.17 million) in the first quarter of the year from 800,000 levs in the same period last year.
Total gross written premiums in Macedonia rose to 6.6 million euro through March from 6.4 million euro in the first quarter of 2017, VIG said in a quarterly financial report.
The Austrian group has been active in Macedonia through insurers Winner and Winner Life since 2007. In August 2013, it completed the acquisition of Osiguravanje Makedonija, formerly QBE Makedonija.
