November 15 (SeeNews) - Austria's Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) said on Tuesday that its pre-tax profit from operations in Albania and Kosovo jumped 60.8% on the year in the first nine months of 2022, to 4.2 million euro ($4.4 million).
Total gross written premiums in Albania and Kosovo increased 6.6% year-on-year to 34.9 million euro in the period under review, VIG said in an interim financial statement.
Premiums generated on the motor third party liability (MTPL) insurance sub-segment rose 8.2% to 24.8 million euro, whereas Casco premiums went up 16.5% to 2.1 million euro. Premiums from other property insurance decreased 3.8% to 5.5 million euro.
VIG's health insurance premiums in Albania and Kosovo increased 8.3% on the year to 2.5 million euro in the January-September period.
In both countries, VIG is only active in the non-life insurance segment. In Albania, VIG operates through Sigma Interalbanian and Intersig. In Kosovo, the group operates through Sigma Interalbanian Kosovo.
