May 12 (SeeNews) - UK-based Vast Resources said on Tuesday that grades from metallurgical test work on producing copper concentrate at its Baita Plai polymetallic mine in Romania are greater than originally forecast.
"It is expected that the underground drilling currently underway will further confirm the continuation of similar grades at depth," Vast Resources said in a statement.
The new results now provide Vast with increased insight into the expected gold and silver values in the working areas expected to commence production shortly and would substantially increase the value of the saleable copper concentrate, the AIM-listed company added.
On Monday, Vast Resources said that it has appointed Adrian Badita as general manager at Baita Plai polymetallic mine.
Vast Resources, formerly known as African Consolidated Resources Plc, is an emerging mid-tier, multi-commodity, multi-jurisdictional development and mining company with a project portfolio covering gold, nickel, copper, phosphate and diamonds. It also owns a gold mine in Zimbabwe.
The company’s Romanian portfolio includes an 80% interest in the Baita Plai polymetallic mine and the Manaila polymetallic mine, which was commissioned in 2015, currently on care and maintenance.
