May 26 (SeeNews) - Croatian textile company Varteks [ZSE:VART-R-1] led the gainers among the blue chips on the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) on Friday, bourse data showed.
Varteks' shares closed 10.66% higher at 13.50 kuna, as 2,081 shares changed hands.
Telecoms operator Hrvatski Telekom [ZSE:HT-R-A] generated the highest trading turnover of 11.1 million kuna ($167,139/149,546 euro). The company's share price rose 1.75% to 169.02 kuna.
Insurer Jadransko Osiguranje [ZSE:JDOS-R-A] paced the blue-chip decliners as its share price fell 5.89% to 3,500 kuna.
The bourse's total trading turnover decreased to 3.5 million kuna on Friday from 5.4 million kuna on Thursday.
The 25-share benchmark CROBEX index of the ZSE went up 0.48% to 1,862.07 points, after edging down 0.01% on Thursday.
The narrower of the bourse's two blue-chip indices, the CROBEX10, which tracks the leading companies in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, rose 0.47% to 1,101.47 points after losing 0.23% in the previous trading session.
The fixed-income CROBIS index rose 0.11% to 108,.8691 points.
