March 28 (SeeNews) - The government of Serbia's Uzice city said it has presented several projects of potential interest to China Shandong International Economic & Technical Cooperation Group (CSI) which is already building two sections of Corridor XI in Serbia.
The representatives of CSI were most interested in the planned construction of a hotel complex in Tara mountain and in a project for the overhaul of Ponikve Airport in western Serbia in view of launching commercial flights from it, the Uzice city government said in a statement earlier this week.
The Serbian government started a project for the reconstruction of Ponikve Airport in 2006. The reconstruction of the 3,200 metre-long runway and the construction of a terminal building at the airport was completed in 2016.
According to Serbian media reports, under the concession agreement for the operation of Belgrade Nikola Tesla airport which the government signed with France's Vinci Airports earlier this month, the traffic of each Nis, Morava and Ponikve airports is limited to one million passengers annually for the next 12 years.
