August 9 (SeeNews) - A US investor has received a building permit for a 300 million levs ($171.6 million/153.4 million euro) tourist complex near the Bulgarian town of Svilengrad, the local authorities said in a statement.
The project, which will be developed by Bulgaria-registered BC Industries, envisages the construction of a complex with a total built-up area of some 61,000 sq m, which will include a hotel, two restaurants, commercial centre, parking lot, filling station and a charging station for electric vehicles, Svilengrad municipality said in a statement on Thursday.
It did not disclose the name of the US investor.
The hotel will offer 624 rooms which can accommodate 1,248 people.
The complex will be located on a 14.3 ha land plot located near Maritsa motorway and the Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint on the border with Turkey. BC Industries has already paid the 396,000 levs tax for the purchase of the land plot and the 36,000 levs fee for the procedure for approval of the investment project.
The project is expected to create 780 new jobs.
