December 6 (SeeNews) - U.S. Eximbank has approved a $641 million (469 million euro) loan to Turkey's Star Refinery A.S. to finance the export of US-made oil refinery equipment to Turkey, the bank said.
The equipment will be used in the construction of an oil refinery in western Turkey's province of Izmir, which is expected to complete in 2017, the US Eximbank said in a statement on Thursday.
The move will support some 3,000 US jobs, the Eximbank added.
Star Refinery A.S. is 85.5%-owned by Azeri state-owned oil and gas firm SOCAR and 18.5%-owned by Turkish integrated energy company Turcas Petrol [BIST:TRCAS]
