BELGRADE (Serbia), December 14 (SeeNews) – U.S.-based car electronics maker Amphenol Automotive Technology has opened a factory in Trstenik, in central Serbia, the Serbian president's office said.
Amphenol plans to open a total of 1,000 jobs at the factory and has received 4.6 million euro ($5.2 million) in support from the government, president Aleksandar Vucic said during the opening of the plant on Thursday, according to a statement by his office.

The company currently has 130 employees at the factory in Trstenik, which now covers 2,500 square metres, the director of the plant, Jana Javorka, said in a video file posted on the YouTube channel of news agency Tanjug on Thursday.
"In 2019 we are planning the reconstruction of five production halls which will give us another 5,000 square metres. In a total of 8,000 square metres we are planning to have over 1,000 employees within the next few years," Javorka said.
Amphenol Automotive Technologies, a subsidiary of Connecticut-based Amphenol Corporation, is a manufacturer of electronics, including interconnect systems, sensors and antennas for the car industry.
