June 8 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's economic output rose by 2.3% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2023, following an annual increase of 2.2% in the last quarter of 2022, the statistical office said on Thursday.
On a quarterly comparison basis, Bulgaria's gross domestic product (GDP) edged up by 0.5% in the January-March period, after growing by 0.6% in the last three months of 2022, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement, citing preliminary and seasonally-adjusted data.
Bulgaria's GDP totalled some 39.97 billion levs ($21.9 billion/20.4 billion euro) at current prices in the first quarter of 2023. The GDP per capita amounted to 6,201 levs in the review period.
The gross value added (GVA) generated by the Bulgarian economy in January-March went up by 2.7% on the year to reach some 34.88 billion levs at current prices.
