September 5 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's economy expanded by 3.5% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2019, maintaining its annual growth rate from the previous quarter, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Thursday, citing preliminary seasonally adjusted data.
On a quarterly comparison basis, GDP growth decelerated to 0.8% in the second quarter, from 1.2% in the first quarter of 2019, the NSI said in a statement.
NSI said in a flash estimate in the middle of August that GDP grew by 3.3% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2019 and by 0.6% quarter-on-quarter in the April-June period of 2019.
Calculated in current prices, Bulgaria's GDP totalled 29.1 billion levs ($16.4 billion/14.9 billion euro) in the April-June period of 2019, NSI said on Thursday.
