January 15 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's consumer prices rose by 3.8% year-on-year in December, after increasing by 3.0% in November, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Wednesday.
The average annual inflation in 2019 was 3.1%, NSI said in a monthly inflation report.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices added 0.7% in December, after increasing by 0.5% in the previous month.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the largest weight in the consumer basket, rose 7.0% year-on-year in December, while prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels grew 2.4%.
Transport prices added 3.4% year-on-year in December.
Bulgaria’s EU-harmonised consumer price index (HICP) rose 3.1% on the year and has 0.8% higher compared to the November level.
