SOFIA (Bulgaria), October 13 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria's annual consumer price inflation accelerated to 2.1% in September, from 1.4% in the previous month, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Friday.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices edged up 0.2% in September, after increasing by 0.1% in August, NSI said in a statement.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the largest weight of 31.82% in the consumer basket, rose 3.9% year-on-year in September, while prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (17.65% weight) increased 4.0%.
Prices in the transport segment (8.55% weight) added 2.3% year-on-year in September.

Bulgaria's EU-harmonised consumer price index (HICP) rose 1.3% on the year in September and declined by 0.2% compared to August.
